Some Thoughts
I have one question for you my lovely people. What are the Sundays for? I mean for you personally! What do you do? Do you do home work? Do you spend the time with the family or the beloved person? Are you cooking a delicious meal or doing the hoovering? What about brunching? Visiting that fancy restaurant around the corner? Or do you simply and utterly do some work, as if the week was not enough?
Some Revelations
What about going to church? No, seriously! I found myself the other day listening to the lyrics of one of my favorite songs ever written. Hozier: Take me to Church! And that made me think. About the hectic day life we all live and how we always complain about something. The time is never enough, the boss is stupid, the colleagues are piss pots, nothing goes on plan. Everything looks like shit and you do not recognize that person staring at you from the mirror. What a nightmare!
I put a simple off white t-shirt on, jumped into my dungarees and went out, grabbing my iPod shuffle, to hear to the lyrics one more time.
She’s the giggle at a funeral
Knows everybody’s disapproval
I should’ve worshiped her sooner
If the heavens ever did speak
She’s the last true mouthpiece
Every Sunday’s getting more bleak
A fresh poison each week
“We were born sick”
You heard them say it
My church offers no absolutes
She tells me “worship in the bedroom”
The only heaven I’ll be sent to
Is when I’m alone with you
I was born sick, but I love it
Command me to be well
I’ll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I’ll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life
Off White Mens tee takes me to Church
