We all have it. It shields us and keeps us warm, when it is cold. But still providing cooling on the really hot summer days. We call it the largest organ in each and every organism. What I mean? The Skin of course. But how do we take care of our skin? Do we neglect it sometimes? Is that a common thing for all of us or more common for us guys? What is actually the men’s skin care routine? Is it just waking up, taking a shower and that is it? Well I cannot speak for all of us men, but I can introduce you my daily skin care routine. So many blogs, sites and youtubers have talked about it, giving advice and telling the Dos and Don’ts. But here comes my take on that topic.
Men’s skin care routine
Cleansing
The most important thing after waking up is the cleansing of the skin. That is actually also the main step before going to bed as well. Try to get rid of all the dirt your skin has absorbed during the day. The one thing i could not live without is a gentle cleansing gel. I particularly enjoy the Neutrogina Hydro Boost. It is gentle to the skin, but removes pretty much every piece of dirt and leaves healthy glowy appearance. That gel contains hyaloronic acid, which actually absorbs the moisture from the air and inserts it in your epidermal. The skin looks plumper and more elastic after using that one.
Peeling
Washing the face is good, but does it effectively remove structure from your skin. Everybody wants even skin with no imperfections. The best way to achieve that is by using a face scrub, twice a week. Either with micro spheres or with natural ingredients like crushed nut shells, a scrub is a must in everybody’s skin routine. These two products are basically my holly grails. The Biotherm scrub contains very small micro spheres, so that the exfoliating effect is really gentle and evens everything out. The Biore powder is a new product to my routine, but i am a big fan of everything that leaves the skin smooth like glass. The powder is being activated with water. Depending on how much water u use, it could be more aggressive or more gentle with more water.
Moisturizing
The most crucial step in men’s skin care routine is of course moisturizing. And do not forget to drink water, because if you don’t, your skin suffers. Dry lines are the result. There are so many moisturizing products on the market. Cremes for men, cremes for women, telling us each and every time to not mix things up. But honestly I am all about that. As you may see from the next picture, I am completely in love with L’Oreal. You would be amazed on how huge the concern is and which brands are owned by L’Oreal. If you are curious, just check it out. But lets leave that aside. The way L’Oreal thinks and does their innovative researches and always come up with new products is just breathtaking.
My best loved products are these three. If you have them, well then there is nothing more you need. The Hydra Genius face moisturizer with Aloe Vera is a perfect daycare. It boosts your skin with water and keeps it soft and plump, it is almost like a drink for your skin. The other two I use in the evening, after cleansing. They are more preventive and give a great wrinkle protection.
The Face Oil
If you have a dry skin, do not forget the face oil. Oil treatments are used almost in every culture for centuries. My favorite is this one from Caudalie overnight detox oil. And if oil by itself is way too rich for you, you can put a few drops in your moisturizer or even in your foundation. The results are simply magical.
Masks
Another way to do something great for your skin is by doing masks. Either clay masks or sheet masks. These products have so much great properties for your skin. And the variety… don’t even get me start on that. From drugstore to more premium… the range is endless. I enjoy the new clay mask from L’Oreal….once again. It cleans and minimizes pores, leaving your face more radiant and flawless.
I hope you enjoyed my take on men’s skin care routine. Have a great day and do not forget to drink water.
