The Fashion colour red
The new York fashion week is over and the Paris fashion week also is slightly heading to an end as well. The one thing that remains is the fashion colour red. Basically every designer has shown us red in all its shades. But mostly the bright red and the burned orange red. We saw all these beautiful clothes, structured and with a nostalgic vibes to the 70’s and 80’s. Big shoulders and strong silhouettes are most definitely in this season.
As a quick recap I can only say there was one show which stood the most. For me at least. And it was Versace. With that beautiful runway fashion dedicated to the one and only genius and icon GIANNI. It was 20 years from his tragic death. “Gianni this is for you.” When I saw these garments, returning back to the roots and showing everything Versace stands for: Power, Femininity, Strenght of the modern woman, I gasped with admiration. The spirit and essence of Gianni was alive at that moment. And the ending… all the original supermodels: Carla Bruni, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campell, Cindy Crawford and Helena Christensen paid their respects and closed an epic show.
But back to the second star of all the Fall Winter fashion weeks. The colour RED. And no I do not mean Retired Extremely Dangerous, although I love that movie. Houses like Prada, Fendi and Etro has shown us pieces in red velvet, fur, and shearling. Gucci is on a major colourful bandwagon, also incorporating the red, and I love it. Dolge & Gabbana even showed us a whole red catwalk in Milan.
The Look
For today’s look I was pretty much inspired by the fashion weeks shows. The wool jumper in the fashion colour red is actually a really old piece, sitting in my wardrobe and waiting to be worn. It is from H&M and honestly at least 4 years old. This once again shows the longevity of a wool jumper. If properly taken care after, of course. I have combined it with a thick heavy leather biker jacket and dark blue jeans. Basically channeling my inner Parisian rock chic vibe. To tie all pieces together i have thrown a beautiful Burberry scarf. The shoes I am wearing are from Topshop and very much an omage to the Givenchy Prue boots. The watch is a MVMT timepiece, which complements the dark colours of my look. The Burberry prorsum leather studded cuff is one of my very first things designer. The leather handbag and also the shades are of the british iconic brand Burberry, which leads me to believe that I took the Burberry pill on that day.
I hope you enjoyed my latest blog post my lovely people. Stay beautiful.
